Breaking the Silence: Domestic Violence Community Conversation

October 28 @ 11:00 am - 2:30 pm
Breaking the Silence, a Domestic Violence Awareness Month community conversation

Breaking the Silence is a Domestic Violence Awareness Month community conversation created to make space for truth, awareness, and support. Domestic violence affects individuals, families, and entire support systems, yet too often, the silence around it can leave people feeling unseen and alone.

This event invites you to a meaningful conversation about awareness, advocacy, and the importance of speaking openly about an issue that touches so many lives. The program will feature keynote speaker Melesa Johnson, Jackson County prosecutor and advocate for domestic violence awareness, whose leadership helps bring greater visibility to this urgent issue.

Join us on Wednesday, Oct. 28, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Propeller Building, 2100 E. 9th St., Kansas City, MO 64124, as we come together for a conversation rooted in understanding, education, and hope.

During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, this gathering offers an opportunity to listen, learn, and stand with those whose experiences deserve to be acknowledged with care
