Theis has been part of the Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center family since 2006 in various roles. Today, Theis serves as the chief executive officer, ensuring the administrative, financial, and operational integrity of the health center.

Theis is an accomplished senior-level executive with a record of leadership in financial administration, business management, process improvements, accounting, and staff development. He provides successful financial management of overall business operations and offers sound guidance to make effective business decisions. Theis has expert knowledge of financial and accounting principles, procedures, and practices related to business operations. He has a proven ability to lead teams effectively, utilizing excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills. He excels at transitioning strategy into action, resulting in measurable achievements.

Theis appreciates the legacy of Dr. Samuel U. Rodgers and is committed to continuing it. Dr. Rodgers believed in the core values of kindness, integrity, professionalism, and excellence. Theis emphasizes that it is essential for the team to live by these values every day. He consistently reinforces the health center’s mission: “The only reason we are here is to provide high-quality, compassionate, and affordable healthcare for all.” He adds, “I believe in Dr. Rodgers’ basic reason for creating this: to make people’s lives better.”

 A favorite quote of Theis, from Lily Tomlin, is, “The road to success is always under construction.” Helping Sam Rodgers constantly improve is key to his role, he says. “There’s always a new challenge around the corner, and we’re always looking for a better way to do something.”

 Before joining Sam Rodgers, Theis worked in auditing, consulting for CPA firms, and accounting at several healthcare facilities. “I feel like my whole life led me to be here,” Theis says.

 Theis earned his bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Kansas and a master’s degree in accounting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City. He has been a certified public accountant since 2003.
