Coming Fall 2025: More Room to Care for Kansas City’s Kids.
Opening this fall, the new Pediatric Wing at Samuel U. Rodgers Health Center will give more children in Kansas City the care they deserve—close to home and all in one place. With 30,000 square feet and 40 new exam rooms, this expansion means families will have easier access to pediatric checkups, dental care, mental health support, and nutrition services through WIC—without the long waits or extra travel.
What Families Can Expect
This new space was built with families in mind. When the Pediatric Wing opens, you’ll find:
Medical care for infants through teens
A three-chair dental suite for cleanings, exams, and referrals
On-site behavioral health services
WIC offices right inside the entrance
A care team that works together — and works with you
This is a space designed for real life— for busy mornings, sick days, school checkups, and everything in between.
Why It Matters
In Kansas City, thousands of children have Medicaid coverage but still struggle to get in for routine care. Long waits, limited providers, and overloaded ERs are symptoms of a system that’s stretched too thin.
Sam Rodgers’ Pediatric Wing helps close that gap. It creates space to serve 4,500 more children each year and brings 37 new providers and support staff to pediatrics, dental, and behavioral health. It’s how we make room for prevention, early intervention, and trust—not just treatment.
